NAMI DeKalb is a grassroots organization for family, consumers, friends, and mental health professionals. We encourage self-help, support education, and advocate for people with severe mental illnesses. We offer:

  • Educational Program by experts on such topics as medication, treatments, housing, insurance, and services available in our area.
  • Awareness of the mental health services provided by DeKalb Community Service Board (DeKCSB) and other local agencies.
  • Family Support Group to help family members who are caretakers to be able to cope.
  • NAMI Connection, a Peer Support Group for consumers to discuss common problems.
  • Family to Family Classes given twice a year presents an in-depth look at all aspects of mental illness, giving more control to caretakers.
  • Abundant reading material, including pamphlets, brochures, and a lending library dealing with mental problems.
  • Diversion Treatment Court, a multi-organizational service to release consumers from incarceration for misdemeanor charges.

What a bargain! For the yearly membership dues of $35, you become a member of NAMI DeKalb, NAMI Georgia, and NAMI National. You will receive our monthly newsletter Family Forum and the quarterly Advocate. Send a check for $35 made out to:
