DCSB Children & Adolescent Services
Assessment and Treatment
DeKalb Community Service Board offers many services for Children and Adolescents. Each outpatient clinic is able to access and treat this population. For information on the location of the outpatient clinic nearest you, click on the Get Help button.
Hospitalization
When necessary, Peachford Hospital provides hospitalization for children aged 10 and under, paid for by the DCSB. Those aged 11 up to 17 are sent to Georgia Regional Hospital. Parents can also send their children to Riverwood or Summit Ridge.
Adolescent Treatment Programs
A “Systems of Care” partnership between the DeKalb School Board, the DeKalb Juvenile Justice System, the Department of Family and Children Services (DFAC), and the DCSB have imbedded staff to coordinate between agencies to deal with problems as they occur. For example, a clinician is posted permanently at the Juvenile Court.
DeKalb Drug Court Treatment is a three day a week program for adolescents with substance abuse. The Court gives more intense oversight to recent offenders.
